Security Deposit Policy

This Security Deposit Policy explains the security deposit applicable to selected membership plans at CalmDesk, a coworking space operated by Logosster.
By purchasing a membership or pass that requires a security deposit, the member agrees to the terms outlined below.
1. Security Deposit Structure
CalmDesk currently follows the following security deposit structure:

The security deposit is separate from the membership or service fee.
A security deposit is not a payment towards membership fees and does not replace any outstanding membership payment.
2. Purpose of the Security Deposit
The security deposit is collected to protect CalmDesk against reasonable costs arising from:
- Damage to furniture or workspace property
- Damage to electrical equipment or infrastructure
- Loss of CalmDesk property or equipment
- Unpaid dues
- Damage caused by the member or their guest
- Other agreed liabilities arising from the member’s use of the workspace
The security deposit is not intended as an additional membership charge.
3. Refundability
The security deposit is refundable after the applicable membership or pass ends, subject to the conditions of this policy.
The member must complete the applicable checkout process and clear any outstanding dues before the deposit can be refunded.
If there are no applicable deductions, the full security deposit will be returned.
4. Conditions for Refund
The security deposit will normally be refunded when:
- The membership period has ended.
- All applicable fees and dues have been paid.
- The assigned desk and workspace property are returned in reasonable condition.
- No CalmDesk equipment or property has been lost.
- No damage attributable to the member or their guest has occurred.
- The member has completed the applicable checkout process.
Normal wear and tear arising from reasonable use will not ordinarily be treated as damage.
5. Deductions from Security Deposit
CalmDesk may deduct a reasonable amount from the security deposit where the member is responsible for:
- Repairing damaged furniture or equipment
- Replacing lost CalmDesk property
- Unpaid dues or charges
- Damage caused by the member’s guest
- Other agreed costs arising from the member’s use of the workspace
Only the applicable amount will be deducted. Any remaining balance will be refunded to the member.
Where a deduction is made, CalmDesk will communicate the reason for the deduction.
6. Security Deposit Does Not Cover Membership Fees
The security deposit cannot normally be used by the member as payment for:
- Monthly membership fees
- Weekly Pass fees
- Day Pass fees
- Renewal fees
- Other outstanding charges
Membership and service fees must be paid separately according to the applicable plan.
7. No Security Deposit for Day Pass
The ₹399 Day Pass does not require a security deposit.
However, the Day Pass user remains responsible for any damage or loss caused by them or their guest.
If damage or loss occurs, CalmDesk may recover the applicable reasonable cost separately.
8. Refund Timeline
After the membership ends and the applicable checkout and verification process is completed, CalmDesk will initiate the refundable security deposit.
The refund may take reasonable processing time depending on the payment method and payment service provider.
The member may be contacted if additional information is required to process the refund.
9. Membership Termination
If a membership is terminated because of serious violation of CalmDesk’s Terms & Conditions, unpaid dues, property damage, misuse of facilities or other legitimate reasons, the security deposit may be adjusted against applicable outstanding amounts or damages.
Any remaining refundable amount will be returned after the applicable adjustment.
10. Transfer of Security Deposit
The security deposit is linked to the registered member and membership.
It cannot be transferred to another person or used by another member without prior approval from CalmDesk.
11. Payment & Receipt
When a security deposit is received, CalmDesk may issue a separate Security Deposit Receipt or payment confirmation.
The deposit amount will be recorded separately from the membership fee for internal accounting and record-keeping.
12. Policy Changes
CalmDesk may update this Security Deposit Policy from time to time.
Any updated version will be published on this page with a revised “Last Updated” date.
Changes to the deposit applicable to future memberships or renewals will be communicated before payment.
